Map view options (heatmap, impact view, map backgrounds)

The map view offers different visualization options which are accessible via the commands on the top right of the map. Let’s analyse the map in detail.

 

 

Heatmap

 

Reports on the map can be visualised with the heatmap in order to highlight the volume of reports in a specific location during a defined timeframe (e.g. criminal incidents in London in the past 3 months).

 

To activate the heatmap, simply click on the heatmap icon in the Map options on the top right of the map.

 

 

Impact view

 

The impact view displays reports in the shape of individual dots of different colours representing the impact of each report: Extreme,  High, Medium, Low.

 

To activate the impact view, click on the impact view icon in the Map options on the top right of the map.

 

 

Change map background

 

To change the map background, click on the layers icon in the Map options on the top right of the map. There are 4 map backgrounds: Light, Dark, Street and Satellite.
