Junior Consultant – Asia-Pacific desk

Hozint is looking for a junior political risk consultant for its Asia-Pacific desk. The selected candidate will work on reporting on safety and security events for Horizon.

  • Experience: 1-3 years;
  • Term: 1 year with possible extension / freelance consulting;
  • Workload: Full-time (40h/week);
  • Location: Remote (online) from Asia (preferably Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand)
  • Remuneration: Paid;
  • Deadline: Open;


Main tasks

  • Monitor media and social media reports on safety and security incidents and threats;
  • Compiling situational reports on incidents and threats to business continuity;
  • Risk assessment;
  • Proof-reading and coordinating a small team of 2-3 analysts;


Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Political Science/International Relations/Economics;
  • Excellent writing skills in English;
  • Knowledge of the following languages is considered as a strong asset: Malay, Filipino, Indonesian, Thai;
  • Additional languages considered as an advantage;
  • Ability to respond quickly to breaking events;
  • Knowledge of current international political & security affairs;
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a small but international structure;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work remotely and with limited supervision;
  • Pro-active and well-organised, with a high attention for details;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Superior computer skills and ability to web-edit is an asset;
