On July 7, Air Madagascar will resume flights to Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport (HAH) in Moroni. The route had been previously suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions. The flights will connect Ivato International Airport (TNR) and HAH.

Australia | Travelers will no longer need to declare COVID-19 vaccination status from July 6

From July 6, people travelling into Australia will no longer need to complete a Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) to declare their COVID-19 vaccination status. All visa holders will be able to travel into the country without being required a travel exemption. It comes following changes in the Biosecurity Act after health advice from the Chief Medical Officer.

 

India | Water cuts to be implemented, from July 4, in Pune, Maharashtra

From July 4, water cuts will be implemented in Pune, Maharashtra. According to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), there will water will be supplied on alternate days in the city due to a water shortage in Khadakwasla Dam and deficit rainfall.

 

Myanmar | Foreign ministers’ meeting of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation to take place, on July 2-5, in Bagan, Mandalay

From July 2 to 5, the foreign ministers’ meeting of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation will take place in Bagan, Mandalay. The meeting will be attended by the foreign ministers of Myanmar, China, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

 

Papua New Guinea | National elections to be held from July 2-22

From July 2-22, Papua New Guinea will hold its national elections. A Commonwealth Observer Group (COG) will observe the national elections. The results of the elections are scheduled for July 29.

 

South Korea | Parts of Jeju and other southern coastal areas are likely to be impacted by the effects of Typhoon Aere by July 4-5

On July 4-5, parts of Jeju and other southern coastal areas are likely to be impacted by the effects of Typhoon Aere. Heavy rainfall is expected in the areas.

Albania | PD party protest to be held in Tirana on July 7

On July 7, a protest will be held in Tirana. The protest is staged by the Democratic Party of Albania against rising fuel and food prices. The protest will take place in Tirana’s main square at 7 pm local time.

 

Armenia | Anti-government protests scheduled in Yerevan, Armenia on July 8

On July 8, the Armenian opposition will hold a rally in Yerevan, Armenia. The protest is staged against current PM Nikol Pashinyan’s government.

 

France | SNCF workers to hold national strike between July 5 and July 7

From July 5 to 7, three unions of the SNCF workers will hold a national strike. It will occur from the night of July 5 until the morning of July 7. The unions are the CGT Cheminots, SUD-Rail and the CFDT Cheminots. The workers are reportedly demanding wage increases. Disruptions are expected on all TER trains during this period.

 

Germany | Demonstration to be held outside Chinese Consulate in Munich on July 5

On July 5, a demonstration will be held outside the Chinese Consulate in Munich. The demonstration will take place from 3:30 to 5 pm local time and is staged to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the Urumchi massacre.

 

Ireland | Community workers to hold 24-hour work stoppage, on July 6, in Galway and Waterford

On July 6, community workers, associated with the SIPTU union, will hold a 24-hour work stoppage in Galway and Waterford. The work stoppage is being organised over a wage dispute. The organisations involved in Galway are Galway Rural Development, Galway Rape Crisis, EmployAbility, the Oranmore CE Scheme, and the Claregalway/Annaghdown CE Scheme. The organisations involved in Waterford are Active People Community Group, Ballybeg CDP, Cappoquin Community Employment, Caring in Waterford, Compact Community CE Scheme, Tay Valley CLG, and West Waterford GAA Clubs.

 

Italy | Public transport workers’ union calls for a 4-hour strike on July 5 in Turin, Piedmont

On July 5, the public transport workers’ union called for a strike in Turin, Piedmont. The strike will be staged from 6 pm to 10 pm local time, and involve only the urban-suburban transport personnel.

 

Italy | Train workers call for strike on July 10 in Milan, Lombardy

On July 10, train workers’ unions Rsu 1A Pdm and Rsu 1b Pdb called for a strike of Trenord workers in Milan, Lombardy. The strike will start on July 10 at 3 am local time and last until 2 am on July 11. Disruptions are expected in the regional and suburban train networks, with no minimum services guaranteed at the moment.

 

Netherlands | Farmers protest planned in Amsterdam-Schiphol (AMS), Eindhoven (EIN), Rotterdam-The Hague (RTM) airports on July 4
On July 4, protests are planned at Amsterdam-Schiphol (AMS), Eindhoven (EIN), Rotterdam-The Hague (RTM) airports. The protests will be staged by the farmers against the nitrogen law.

Between July 7 and August 14, Transavia airline will cancel 240 flights, due to staff shortages and new restrictions at Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport (AMS). Passengers will be granted a refund or a flight change.

 

Poland – Netherlands | LOT Polish Airlines cancels dozens of flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) to Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport (AMS) between July 3 and August 29
From July 3, LOT Polish Airlines will cancel more than a dozen flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) to Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport (AMS). This is due to capacity constraints and a lack of staff at Amsterdam Airport.

 

Spain | Sanitation workers’ unions to go on indefinite strike, from July 4, in Balearic Islands; to hold protests at airports and hospitals on July 4
From July 4, sanitation workers, associated with the SITEB and CCOO unions, are planning to go on an indefinite strike in the Balearic Islands. The unions are also planning to hold protest rallies, on July 4, at all airports in the Balearic Islands, at hospitals, and on El Corte Ingles de Avenidas in Palma. The strike has been called to demand the resumption of negotiations over increasing wages and better working conditions.

 

Spain | Lauda’s aircrew in Palma de Mallorca to strike every weekend in July
On May 30, the union USO Illes Balears called for a strike of Lauda aircrew in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands in July. All 65 workers of Ryanair’s subsidiary Lauda working at the Mallorca airport (PMI) are called to strike every weekend of July, including the days 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, and 30-31 of July.

 

United Kingdom | Protests with roadblocks expected to take place in Wales, on July 4
On July 4, protests with roadblocks are expected to take place in Wales. One of the known gathering locations is Magor, at 5:30 am local time. Among the locations expected to be affected by roadblocks are the Prince of Wales Bridge and the Severn Bridge.

 

United Kingdom | Protest to be held on M6 near Coventry, England on July 4
On July 4, protesters against fuel price hikes will protest by blocking lanes on the M4 motorway near Coventry, England. The protest is due to start from Junction 3, for Bedworth and Nuneaton, at 6 am local time. The protest will consist of a 30mph rolling roadblock of lanes 1 and 2 on the northbound carriageway. This protest adds onto the protest planned for the Severn bridges on the same date.

 

United Kingdom | Protest organised for A9 motorway against fuel prices near Inverness, England on July 04
On July 04, a protest is planned for the A9 motorway near Inverness, England.  A convoy will form at Kessock Bridge junction at 10 am local time and travel south. The convoy will travel at 20mph to take a stand against fuel prices and ask for tax duty cuts and VAT cuts to address the issue. More than 135 people have registered their interest on the Facebook event.

 

United Kingdom | Pro-abortion protest to be held in London on July 9

On July 09, a pro-abortion protest will be held in London. The protest will take place at 4 pm local time, starting at Trafalgar Square and ending at the US Embassy in London.

Algeria | Air Algeria announces flight disruptions from June 28 to July 5

On June 28-July 5, Air Algeria announced national and international flight disruptions due to operational reasons. Passengers are invited to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the time of departure.

 

Algeria – France | ASL Airlines to increase flight routes and change schedules between France and Algeria, from June 20 to July 5

On June 16, ASL Airlines announced the increase in flight routes and change schedules between France and Algeria, from June 20 to July 5. According to ASL, the change was made “at the request of the civil aviation authorities in Algeria.” These changes will affect flights within the airports of Algiers (ALG), Oran (ORN), Bejaia (BJA), Annaba (AAE), Paris (CDG), Lyon (LYS), and Lille (LIL). Multiple flights have been moved forward and/or postponed.

 

Morocco | Authorities introduces electronic visa system for 49 countries from July 10

On July 10, the government announced the launching of an e-VISA program for foreigners from 49 countries, including the EU, the USA, and the UK. The validity period will range from 30 days to 6 months and the issuing of the visa in normal circumstances will take 72 hours. The decision has been taken to facilitate the entry of tourists following the COVID-19 pandemic.
