From November 10 to 17, the Union of Justice Officers will go on a nationwide strike. The strike will affect officers of the first and second-instance courts. The strike is being held in order to denounce the poor infrastructure, the lack of transport and health insurance, and the revision of the salary status.

 

Democratic Republic of Congo | Demonstration to be staged by CSOs in Kinshasa on November 19
On November 19, civil society organizations (CSOs) will demonstrate in the streets of Kinshasa. The demonstration will begin at 9 am local time. The objective is to denounce the Rwandan aggression.

 

Eritrea – Somalia | President of Somalia on an official visit to Eritrea from November 10-14
From November 10 to 14, the President of Somalia is on an official visit to Eritrea. The Somali President and his Eritrean counterpart will discuss bilateral relations between both countries.

 

Ghana | CETAG and CENTSAG members to go on indefinite strike nationwide from November 14
On November 14, the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) and the Colleges of Education Non-Teaching Staff Association of Ghana (CENTSAG) will go on an indefinite strike nationwide.  The strike is being held for not having obtained better conditions of service from the government.

 

Guinea | FFSG calls for nationwide shutdown on November 10 and protest march on November 17 against high cost of living and CNRD
On November 10, the Forum of Social Forces of Guinea (FFSG) has called for a nationwide shutdown as part of protest actions against the high cost of living, violation of human rights, and the junta-led National Committee of Reconciliation and Development (CNRD). FFSG is also planning to hold protest marches on November 17.

 

Mauritius – South Africa | Direct flights between Cape Town (CPT) and Mauritius (MRU) will resume on November 16
On November 16, direct flights between Cape Town (CPT) and Mauritius (MRU) will resume. There will be 2 flights per week operated by Air Mauritius.

 

South Africa | Planned power outage scheduled for November 19, due to maintenance work, in parts of Johannesburg, Gauteng
On November 19, a planned power outage has been scheduled, due to routine maintenance work, in parts of Johannesburg, Gauteng. According to City Power Johannesburg, the power supply will be disrupted between 8 am and 2 pm local time and will affect the Devland; Eldorado Park Extensions 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9; Lenasia Extensions 2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10,11,13; and, the Lehae areas.

 

South Africa | World Wide Freedom Rally demonstration to be staged in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape on November 19
On November 19, a World Wide Freedom Rally will be staged in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. The demonstration will begin at 11 am local time at Shark Rock Pier, Hobie Beach. The protesters demand “Freedom, Peace, and Human Rights.”

 

South Africa | Water supply to be disrupted in Glenhazel, Gauteng on November 15
On November 15, the water supply will be disrupted in Glenhazel, Gauteng. The outage will be between 8 am and 8 pm local time.

 

South Africa | Planned power outage to occur in parts of Johannesburg, Gauteng on November 14
On November 14, a planned power outage will occur in parts of Johannesburg, Gauteng. According to City Power Johannesburg, the power supply will be disrupted between 9 am and 4 pm local time and will affect the Bosmont, Croesus, Industria, Industria Ext. 1 and 2, Industria West, and Newclare areas.

Canada | Labour unions planning to hold mass demonstration in Toronto on November 12 and province-wide strike in Ontario on November 14
On November 12, multiple labour unions are planning to hold a mass demonstration at Queen’s Park in Toronto, Ontario. The unions are planning to hold a province-wide multi-sector strike in Ontario on November 14. The protest and strike action is being planned to demand the government to repeal Bill 28 which imposes a contract on CUPE’s 55,000 education-support workers.

 

Colombia | Anti-reform protests to be staged in Bogota from November 17 to 19
On November 17, 18 and 19, the “Mesa Nacional por la Libertad” announced several protests against the reforms by the government in Bogota. The mobilisations will take place in the following locations and times:

– On November 17, a protest will take place in the Registraduría from 2 pm to 4 pm local time.
– On November 18, a protest will take place in the CNE from 10 am to 2 pm local time.
– On November 19, a march will take place from Parque Nacional towards Plaza Bolívar at 10 am local time.

On November 14, University of California (UC) teachers and workers will reportedly strike at campuses across California. The strike is in demand for better working conditions.

 

Uruguay | PIT-CNT will go on strike against the pension reform on November 15
On November 15, the PIT-CNT will go on strike against the pension reform in Montevideo. The strike will be held from 9 am to 3 pm local time. A march will take place from the Universidad de la República (Udelar) to the Palacio Legislativo.

Starting from October 24, West Australian police will launch a month of industrial action over a pay and conditions claim. The action will include disconnecting from work-related calls and emails while off duty, working to the award, working strictly to rostered hours, and refusing voluntary recalls. Nurses and prison workers at Acacia Prison have also joined police officers in voting to launch industrial action to secure a bigger pay rise.

On November 14, the Sultan of Brunei will pay a state visit to Cambodia upon the invitation of the King of Cambodia. The Sultan and the King will meet at the Royal Palace where they will preside over the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two governments on bilateral consultations. The Sultan will also attend the ASEAN Summit in Phnom Penh before the state visit, from November 10 to November 13.

From November 8 to 18, US-Japan military exercise is scheduled to take place at Nyutabaru Air Base in Shintomi-cho, Miyazaki. Approximately 110 Marines and about 10 FA-18 fighter jets from the U.S. Iwakuni Air Base in Yamaguchi Prefecture are expected to participate. New Zealand | World Wide Rally for Freedom demonstration to be held in Auckland, on November 19
On November 19, a World Wide Rally for Freedom demonstration is expected to be held in Auckland. The demonstration is scheduled at 11 am local time on Aotea Square.

 

New Zealand – Vietnam | Prime Minister of New Zealand to pay an official visit to Vietnam from November 14 to 17
From November 14 to 17, Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, will pay an official state visit to Vietnam, upon invitation from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Singapore | Marina Bridge to be closed due to maintenance work, November 14-17
From November 14-17, the Marina Bridge will be closed due to maintenance work. During this period, the bridge will be closed every day from 9am to 9pm local time, with periodic accessibility for the public.

 

Singapore | Visiting restrictions to be extended in hospitals and care homes from November 9 to 23
From November 9 to 23, visiting restrictions due to COVID-19 will be extended in hospitals and residential care homes to protect vulnerable patients and residents. Since October 14, patients in hospitals have been allowed only 2 pre-designated visitors.

From November 14, COVID-19 quarantine restrictions to be eased in Taiwan. The Central Epidemic Command Center will shorten the 7-day quarantine for confirmed COVID cases to 5 days under the new “5+n” scheme.

 

Thailand | Public gatherings banned during APEC Summit at 20 city areas in Bangkok from November 14-19
From November 14 until November 19, public gatherings have been banned at 20 inner city areas in Bangkok during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, allegedly to prevent disturbances to the APEC Summit and meetings at the venue at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) and at 19 hotels where world leaders will stay.

 

Thailand | Water outages announced across Muaeng Phuket, Kathu, and Thalang on November 14-17
From November 14 until November 17, residents and businesses in Patong, Kathu, Karon, Chalong, Wichit, Srisoonthorn, Pa Khlok, and Cherng Talay will see their main water supply shut off due to maintenance work. Outages will vary depending on locality and date, but can last from 9 am until 11 pm daily.

 

Thailand | Ratchadaphisek Road to close for APEC Summit in Bangkok from November 14 to 19
From November 14 to 19, a stretch of Ratchadaphisek Road will be closed to general traffic to ensure the security of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)Summit. The road will be closed from Asoke Intersection to Ratchada-Khlong Toei Intersection to make way for attendees of the APEC Summit, which will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.

 

Thailand – United States | US Vice President to visit Thailand on November 18-19
On November 18-19, the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, will visit Thailand to attend Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperations Leaders Meeting. The Vice President’s participation will underscore the US’s commitment to economic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. During her visit to Thailand, the Vice President will engage with Thai leaders and civil society representatives to reaffirm and strengthen the US-Thai Alliance and to discuss cooperation across a range of issues.

Belgium | Demonstration against high cost of living and energy prices to be held in Brussels on November 17
On November 17, a demonstration will be held in Brussels. The demonstration will be staged by FEF – Fédération des Etudiant. e.s Francophones against the high cost of living and energy prices. The demonstration will take place at Place des Congrès at 11:15 am local time.

 

Belgium | CPAS employees go on strike in Brussels on November 16
On November 16, a strike will be held in Brussels. The strike will be staged by CPAS employees to denounce the overload of work. A demonstration will also take place on Boulevard
du Régent, near the office of Brussels Secretary of State for Equal Opportunity and Housing, Nawal Ben Hamou, at 9 am local time.

 

Bosnia and Herzegovina | Military exercise “Quick Response 22” to be conducted from October 17 to November 20
From October 17 to November 20, the European peacekeeping force to Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR) will conduct the military exercise “Quick Response 22”. The purpose of the exercise is to demonstrate EUFOR’s capability and determination to contribute to a safe and secure environment through increased patrolling and tactical exercises in selected urban and rural areas. 20 countries are expected to participate in the training.

 

Croatia | Trade unionists to stage protests nationwide on November 8 and 15
On November 8 and 15, trade unionists will stage protests nationwide. The demonstrations are being staged demanding that base wages be increased for government employees. Protests will be held on November 8 nationwide in front of public services institutions and on November 15 a large joint protest will be organised in Zagreb.

 

Cyprus | New terminal at the Ercan Airport (ECN) scheduled to open on November 15
On November 15, a new terminal at Ercan Airport (ECN) is scheduled to open. Ercan Airport will serve with a passenger capacity of 10 million. Previously, the opening was scheduled for October 29.

 

Finland | World Wide Rally for Freedom demonstration to be held in Helsinki on November 19
On November 19, a World Wide Rally for Freedom demonstration will be held in Helsinki. The demonstration will be held in Senaatintori at 2 pm local time.

 

France | NousToutes protest to be held in Paris on November 19
On November 19, a NousToutes protest will be held in Paris. The protest is organised against violence against women. Details about the protest are forthcoming.

 

France | High school teachers go on strike nationwide on November 17
On November 17, a strike will be held nationwide. The strike will be staged by high school teachers supported by Snetaa-FO, Snuep-FSU, Se-unsa, CGT, Snalc, SUD Éducation, and CNT unions to demand the withdrawal of the reform project.

 

France | Staff from medical analysis laboratories to take strike action across the country, November 14-16
From November 14-16, the staff from medical analysis laboratories will take strike action across the country. The strike action is being taken to protest the Social Security financing bill proposed by the government.

 

Germany | Demonstration against the football world cup to be held in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia on November 20
On November 20, a demonstration will be held in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia. The demonstration will be staged by Boycott Qatar NRW against the 2022 football world cup. The demonstration will take place at 1 pm local time.
